Renewable energy and water supply projects
The maximum financing period for renewable energy and water supply projects can be extended to 18 years, in accordance with the agreement concluded by OECD countries participating in the “Consensus”. The purpose of the agreement is to facilitate projects for generating energy from renewable sources and for making clean drinking water more widely available in emerging markets.
The special conditions of the agreement allow buyers in the sectors listed below longer repayment terms of up to 15 years. This will increase the economic and financial feasibility of these projects, as well as further general acceptance of technologies for renewable energy, specifically in emerging markets.
The new ruling applies to the following sectors:
-
windenergy
-
geothermic energy
-
tidal energy
-
wave energy
-
photovoltaic solar energy
-
conversion of solar energy into warm wter or air
-
ocean thermal energy
-
bioenergy
-
human water supply and sewage
Other “Consensus” conditions, such as those relating to credit insurance premiums, remain in force.
